"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Tricia Shadell - Owner & CMT

What she enjoys most about massage is helping people by creating a safe, comfortable environment, so that through acknowledging their bodies and stresses they can heal. In 2003, Tricia completed a 630-hour certification program through Health Choices Massage School in Hillsborough, NJ. Since 2002, she has been working in a variety of exclusive environments, including Aveda Signature Spas and as the Spa Director at Wilderness Trails Ranch located just outside of Durango.

Whether she is working with Olympic Athletes needing intense and regular massage work or someone who is trying massage for the first time, she draws from a variety of different modalities in order to tailor her massages for each client.

Tricia is trained and experienced in the following modalities:

Neuromuscular - An intense form of bodywork focused on trigger points in the body.

Deep Tissue - Specific to the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia (connective) tissue.
Polarity - Based on the belief that positive and negative poles exist in every cell in all bodies, massage is used to ballance this energy.
Shiatsu - An old Japanese healing method; pressure points and streching are used to align the body.
Trager - Works on the central nervous system by using a gentle rocking motion to release tension.
Sweedish - Most commonly offered technique this method helps with circulation and creates relaxation.
Sports - Designed to help athletes prepare or recover from performances.
